Yes, there are some situations where dogs become desensitised but to avoid this, we recommend that you turn the Outdoor Bark Control on during periods of unwanted barking.

When you hang the device up, how far off the ground does it need to be so it works effectively?
It should be positioned at a height of no more than 1.5 metre and no large obstacles in the way between the device and your dog/s.
