FAQs

By: Cat's Meow

Do my cats need to be vaccinated and wormed to stay at Cat's Meow?

Yes. We require that all cat guests are vaccinated and wormed at least 2 weeks prior to their stay at the resort.

What about fleas?

We work hard to ensure we are a flea free resort so on admission we will check all cats for fleas and should your cat have brought in one of these unwelcome guests we will require flea treatment at a cost of $9.00. We recommend you treat your cat with flea treatment a few days prior to their arrival at the resort to ensure that they do not bring any of these unwelcome guests.

What if my cat gets sick?

While we take exceptional care of your pet, there may be times when your cat will need veterinary attention while boarding. In those rare cases every reasonable effort will be made to contact you before we seek veterinary advice. We will contact your home vet (if during normal surgery hours), or we can go to The Cat Clinic, Paddington (if you prefer). Should it be after hours we use the Brisbane Veterinary Special Centre emergency clinic which is only 20 minutes from the cattery.

You are liable for all veterinary fees, as well as a Vet transport fee of $50 to cover the cost of an employee's wages to accompany your pet to treatment.

What is your booking fee?

To confirm your booking at the resort a 10% non-refundable booking fee is payable which is deducted from your final payment on check-out.

What about Easter and Christmas?

Bookings for Easter cat boarding and Christmas cat boarding fill up fast, so it is recommended you book a minimum of 6 weeks prior to your holiday. A 7 day minimum booking is required over the Easter and Christmas holiday period. We also require 50% deposit that is non refundable.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in and check-out times are between 8-11am and 4-6pm Monday to Friday and 9-11am on Saturdays.

Can I inspect Cat's Meow?

We would love you to check out our facilities to ensure you are happy with our resort before entrusting your pet to us. Inspections are welcome during opening hours (see above) or by special appointment.

Do you offer a pick-up service for our cat?

Yes, depending on your location. We may be able to collect your pet from your home if you are in the Northern suburbs of Brisbane or from selected transfer agents (vet surgeries). Just call us and we can discuss options with you.

Can I call you to check on my pet?

We understand you may want to "check in" on your pet while you are away. You can call us during office hours, but your call may be diverted to our answering machine if we are with our cat guests.

Of course you are also welcome to drop us an email if you prefer.

Can I see how my pet is doing?

We understand that sometimes you need additional reassurance about your pet. That is why some of our cat boarding suites are fitted with webcams so you can log-on to the web-site via our secure server to see your pet. Webcam suites attract an additional $5 per day fee. You can also request a holiday photo of your pet to be emailed to you while you are away. Photos attract an additional $5 fee.

Bedding and scratching posts

If your pet is particularly attached to their bed or scratching post from home, please bring it with you to help your cat feel right at home.

How safe is my pet?

Cat's Meow has an extensive and advanced fire and security alarm system to ensure your pet's safety. We have security screens on all windows to ensure that our guests do not go walk about and we do not get any unwelcome visitors dropping in.

How do I pay for the stay and when?

Cat's Meow accepts all major credit cards. We also accept direct deposit payments or cash payments. Your booking fee is payable on confirmation of your booking. Your remaining fee is payable in full on, or prior to check-out.

What do you do to maintain hygiene within Cat's Meow?

We aim for an immaculate standard of hygiene within our resort. Litter trays are changed twice a day and are fully disinfected between use. All suites are cleaned and disinfected daily, with a deep clean and disinfection between each guest.

We use hospital grade cleaning products for maximum efficacy.

Tips to make your pets stay more enjoyable

The more relaxed you are the more relaxed your pet will be on check-in. Please bring your cat in a carry box. We also recommend you bring your pets favourite bedding and/or one of your worn t-shirts with you, so they can snuggle into your scent. Very few cats enjoy riding in cars - keep calm and gently talk to them while you drive (this is not the time to play loud rock music in your car!). If you have more than one cat at home it is best to keep them together during their holiday at Cat's Meow.

Tips for after your pets holiday

Your cat will need to readjust to being at home again after their holiday. Allow it to re-acclimatise to home before letting it outside.
