"Since 2006 Gnangara Adult Equestrian Club has been holding its annual ‘ponies ‘n’ pjs’ weekends at Brookleigh. It’s like a big pony club camp for adults! We book out the bunkhouse for accommodation and then spend the first day enjoying a variety of lessons in the magnificent indoor and outdoor arenas. Saturday night we usually get into our pjs, open up the nibblies and crack a bottle of wine or two! Add in some silly games and a few more bottles of wine, and you have the perfect recipe for much hilarity!

After a great night’s sleep, Stewarts Restaurant usually puts on a big cooked breakfast to get us going on Sunday morning. Then it’s time to saddle our ponies for a trail ride around the beautiful estate before packing up and heading home for some well-earned rest! There’s simply no other venue within ‘coo-ee’ of Perth that could offer us everything that Brookleigh does for a weekend like this. There are plenty of great yards for our ponies, fantastic accommodation for us, a world-class restaurant on our doorstep, magnificent riding facilities and even a cross country course for those who want some extra thrills. The staff do everything in their power to make sure we have all we need and to accommodate our growing hordes of members. In fact, these weekends have now become so popular we think we may have to hold two each year to cater for everyone!"
