Chlorine free, PH should read above Neutral (7.4-7.6)

Do I need a filter ?
Yes a filter is vital to the health and longevity of your Koi
Do I need to put extra oxygen into the water?
Depending on your stocking rate and your return of water from your filter. A water feature may create enough oxygen in your pond.
What do you feed Koi?
Koi can be fed many foods and it is good to give them a balanced diet. We recommend specifically manufactured Koi pellets. Koi food has to be vegetarian based
How much do you feed them?
Whatever they eat in 10 mins. In the wintertime when the water temperature is ten degrees or less no feeding at all and temperature between 10 and 16 degrees celcius, every second day only.
What do I need to regularly test my water for?
If your fish change their behaviour dramatically you should test for PH and Ammonia. Test the ammonia first and then the PH.
What do I do if I find any Ammonia in my water?
The contaminated water needs to be discarded. As ammonia is heavier than water the bottom half of the water should be changed. Remember when refilling from the city water tap to add water ager as well, to remove the chloromine. Empty out 1/3 of the water from the bottom your pond, put water ager and out of tap water put the 1/3 back in your pond. Please repeat this for the next two days one time per day and then please check the ammonia level again. There should be none left.
Why do I constantly have Ammonia in my pond?
Either your pond is overstocked or your filter is inadequate or you are feeding them too much at a time. Either your is over stocked or your filter is inadequate or you feed excessively.
When are Koi ready to breed?
Generally any fish over 25cm, provided that it is over 3 years of age.
What do I do if I overfeed my fish?
If you see algi building up on the bottom of your tank you must be overfeeding. If the algi starts to increase cut down on food. If the algi is floating in your pond your fish is surely constipated. If this happens pull the fish out and quickly force feed it natural yogurt and then put it back in the pond.
How do I breed my Koi?
Breeding Koi is not a very easy thing to do. They need the proper environment to spawn in and this is usually away from the main population of your Koi. Once spawned the eggs need to be kept at a constant temperature and the fry need to be fed special food. Koi breeding is best kept to Commercial Farms who have proper breeding facilities.
