Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ's about the doggy day out:
Can my dog still participate even if it isn't athletic?
Yes of course. We also cater for elderly dogs. They can sit and bask in the sun and get stomach scratches and be petted.
Do I need to provide a lead for my dog upon pick up?
Yes. You will need too. We carry spare leads but prefer your dog to be on its own lead and be wearing a collar with an ID Tag.
What happens if my dog is hurt or injured whilst in your care?
All Doggy Pause staff are pet first aid trained and can offer treatment for scratches, grazes, pains and ouchies. If a serious injury is sustained we will offer first aid and call you to ask you if you would like us to take them to the vet.
Is my dog allowed to take its toys and balls with it?
No. We do not allow toys or balls. This is for social outings for dogs to be a pack and play together.
How often should I book my dog into doggy day out?
The choice is ultimately up to you, however, we recommend a minimum of once a week so your dog has something to look forward to to break up the week.
FAQ's about boarding your dog at Doggy Pause:
Can my dog escape and run wild through the streets?
No. They are free to roam in a high, fully fenced area of 400 sqm with lockable gates.
May I bring my dogs bedding, toys and bowls?
Yes. Because we want to make this as much your dogs home we would love you to bring your dogs bed and bowls. It is important that the bedding you bring has been de-flead with powder or washed with flea shampoo prior to Doggy Pause - The last thing we want is a flea epidemic.
Will my dog be provided food and treats?
Yes 2 meals a day plus we provide treats for good behaviour.
Do I need to provide a leash and a collar for my dog? Yes. Your dog must be wearing a collar with an ID Tag and be microchipped. A leash is of vital importance as we do two trips a day to the park for exercise.
What happens if my dog doesn't eat well around other dogs?
Thats ok. We can isolate your dog so it does not feel threatened.
What happens if my dog is hurt or injured whilst in our care?
All Doggy Pause staff are pet first aid trained and can offer treatment for scratches, grazes, pains and ouchies. We have a local vet that is 10 minutes up the road and will transport your dog there in our van if the condition is serious.
