Pat's Own Pets
Beamer
Beamer & Indy were my first small dogs. Beamer's favorite thing to do is tease Cavendish by stealing his toys. He is currently trialling in Obedience and to date has 2 passes towards his CCD title.
Cavendish
Cavendish got his name from a rally that I went to and came back on a motorbike. Cav loves toys and his favorite pastime is to jump on mum's lap and demand that she plays ball with him (he's got her well trained).
Indy
Shown here doing what she likes best - lying on the couch. Indy is the litter sister of Beamer. Likes nothing better than ambushing Beamer as he goes past. Indy needs special care due to her skin being very sensitive and easily irritated. Indy is currently living with her Aunt Fiona where her allergies are less affected.
Mooshie
Mooshie is a Chow Chow. He was a past client's dog who could not keep him anymore. Because we had a mutual understanding he came to live with me.
He is the patriarch of the family and tolerates a lot from the younger ones. His favorite thing is to throw himself on his back and have a good scratch.
Milo
The resident "wild child". Milo is a red & white Border Collie. Like most Border Collies, Milo has a keen intelligence, but is easy distracted for mischief.
Pat's Past Pets
These guys were my furkids of the past - now waiting for me at the bridge...
Ivan
Ivan was my first dog that I owned as an adult. He introduced me to the world of dog training. He was very stubborn, having Husky in his blood.
He was a great escape artist, I found out years later that he spent his days up the street with three kids.
He was a dog that would guard a child with his life, but was not good with grown people. His major achievement was a pass in obedience, when everyone else said he would never do it.
He was also the best ear licker in the East!
Miss Ella
I bought Ella as company for Ivan while I was out at work. They were great friends, she would stay home while he was out socialising. She was named after Ella Fitzgerald as she sung her heart out all the way home when I got her.
She was very special because of her colour, being red. She had two beautiful puppies that I could not bear to part with, and they were her major achievement - Madam & Arnold. I have never seen another one like her.
Madam
Her first name began as "Adam" being first born, we thought she was a he. My vet wanted to give me a sex lesson after that Mistake. So, M was put in front of her first name.
She was always so eager to please. doing very well in obedience wining a ring with a score 195 out of 200.
My girl was taken away from me way before her time. I miss you Maddie.
Arnold
Arnold, yes you guessed it Schwarzenegger. Full of mischief and adorable. All he ever wanted to do at obedience was to visit people. I had to take a loan out just to pay for all the leads he chewed through. Even a chain lead, he found the handle and chewed that.
Smart my boy.! So smart, I think we still hold the lowest score in a trial. He got 0, I got minus 10.for misbehavior, telling the judge where his ying and yang could go, after he ran out and through other rings to say hello to a friend of mine.
His passion was his ball, the more slobber on it the better to drop on you.
Thomas
When he first went to the vet with a problem, my vet could not believe how big he was.
I told him I was very good with his food and that his sister was not like him. We lived next door to a deli, and I did not know that he was tapping on their window for food.
He was being feed fresh veal every day, then coming home demanding his food from me.
They thought I was not looking after him, because he would be there tapping on the window. In the end they put a curtain up so they could not see him, but he still kept tapping for a while after that.
Indy
Indy. Must be something in the name, her past time was sleeping. She would always be looking for some-one to give her a cuddle. Never had a problem putting a brush on her, in fact she would sit by it and meow till she got a brush.
Being a female she was good with her food. Her favorite thing to do, was bring presents for me home ALIVE. She loved cicadas, must have been the noise they made.
I didn't like them especially in the bedroom while trying to sleep. Many a time I had to get up and hunt for them.
Pat's Regulars
I've known some of these guys for so long - they feel like my own pets.
Jai
Jai is a German Spitz and has been coming to me since he was 12 weeks old whenever his mum goes to work. Jai is an Australian Champion show dog, has his CD Obedience title, and Agility SD title.
Jai loves other dogs, especially the girls.
Jai suffers from separation anxiety, but he forgets all his woes when playing with his friends though. Jai's best friend's are Beamer &
Indy.
Chester
To us, "Sir Chester". Chester is a standard Labradoodle. He enjoys his days with us while his mum & dad are out working to keep him in the luxury he is accustomed to. Every 3 weeks he goes off to Suzie at "Naturally Stylin" for his massage & hair do.
William
Will the Westie has spent many a happy holiday here, formerly with his sister Cherie, who has sadly passed on. He has since moved further away, but still comes back for visits.
Bote
Bote is a spry old timer that has developed geriatric separation anxiety and cannot be left alone. He is a daily visitor and still enjoys a good romp in the park.
Lucette & Shelby
Both rescue dogs, "We don't like being alone" Lucy says. She only wants to chat to the neighbours, unfortunately they don't feel the same way. Shelby is just happy to walk around with a ball in her mouth (funny that!)
