Conditions of Boarding

You will be required to sign a contract and most of these terms are included in that contract.

The business LochWind K9 Centre is referred to in this document as “the boarder”.

Unencumbered owner of the pet(s) being boarded is referred to in this document as “the owner”.

The boarder reserves the right at their discretion to refuse entry and/or admission of any animal(s).

The owner specifically declares sole ownership of the pet, free and clear of all liens and encumbrances and by signing these conditions and leaving the pet in the care of the boarder, the owner declares that all information in regard to their pet(s) provided by them at or prior to admission is true and accurate.

Animals to be boarded must be at least five months of age and immunised. Vaccination Certificates must be presented during admission.

Minimum boarding charge is for two (2) days and boarding rates are charged per “calendar day”.

If the boarding period exceeds two weeks, a minimum of 50% of the total boarding fee is to be paid in advance to the boarder upon admission.

A deposit for reservation of boarding (as set by the boarder) is payable for each animal and refund of deposit is only available if notice of cancellation is received by the boarder at least two weeks prior to the reserved date. An administration fee will be deducted from the deposit if a refund is made.

The owner agrees to pay the rate (as posted in the boarder’s office) for boarding effective on the date the pet is admitted into the boarder, and also agrees that the pet shall not leave the boarder premises until all charges are paid for by the owner.

Should the pet require veterinary attention (at the absolute discretion of the boarder) whilst in the care of the boarder, every effort will be made to contact the owner prior to seeking veterinary advice. However, even if contact is unable to be made, the owner will be liable for all veterinary expenses incurred by their pet. The owner also agrees to pay all costs/charges for boarding, any requested special services and any unforeseen veterinary costs incurred by the pet during the time the pet has been in the care of the boarder.

The owner acknowledges that the signing of this contract shall create a lien over the animal in favour of the boarder which shall continue to exist whilst ever monies remain owing pursuant to the contract.

All charges incurred by the owner must be paid for prior to the pet leaving the boarder premises. In the case of a default on payment, the boarder has the right to offer the said pet(s) for public sale. If such a sale does not return sufficient funds to cover the outstanding charges, the cost of sale and the cost of maintaining the pet(s) until the time of sale, the owner will remain liable to the boarder for the balance. The boarder may also take this course of action if not advised of a new pick-up date within two weeks expiry of the original pick-up date as previously provided by the owner.

The owner agrees to be solely responsible for any and all behaviour of their pet whilst in the care of the boarder and indemnifies the boarder against any claim for loss or damages made by any person as a result of the actions or behaviour of their pet.

So far as this business is able and whilst all due care will be taken, then this business, its employees or agents will under no circumstances be responsible for the injury, death, loss, or damage to any pet whilst in the boarding facility.
