Puppy Classes
At Eastern Companion Dog Training, we believe very strongly in the training of puppies from a very early age. It has been found in many studies that correct exposure of puppies to high levels of stimulation from 4 to 16 weeks of age greatly improves their overall temperament, specifically their ability to handle and deal with stress as adults, helping to make them more sound temperamented adults. This early exposure can help prevent many of the most common behavioral problems including aggression, seperation anxiety, fear of thunder and many many others.
To further help people achieve this exposure in a safe environment, we offer puppy classes from as early as 8 weeks of age. All our puppy classes are run on sealed surfaces that have been exposed to ultra violot light, all adult dogs used in puppy class have been fully vaccinated and all dog waste is cleared up instantly. These and many other precautions taken create a safe environment for the young pups to come to and be exposed to stimulation correctly and safely.
As with all our classes all of the instructors in and running our puppy classes have been through our training programs meaning that all puppy classes are run by professional instructors with very high levels of knowledge as to how to get the most out of your pup as well as helping with all the normal puppy training issues that arise like toilet training, jumpin up, puppy nipping etc as well as teaching all the basic obedience commands such as sit, drop, recall (calling the dog back to you) and the correct socialisation technique (there is a lot more to socialisation than simply letting two dogs play).
When and where are the classes held?
Our puppy classes run each Thursday evening at 7.00pm and Sunday mornings at 10.00am at Norwood Secondary College in Ringwood (Mullum Mullum Rd Ringwood (Melways Reference 49 K4).
How much do the classes cost?
The cost of our puppy classes, like all our other classes is, the first lesson is free so that you can come along and see what you think of the puppy classes first hand. This is a truly free class with absolutely no obligation. You pay nothing until the next time you come along for a class. Then if you would like to join up there is two forms of membership.
The first being the "Silver" which has a once off membership fee of $140.00, which is for the life of the dog, then you only need to pay $10.00 each time you train. The second type of memebership, our "Gold" level, is for those looking to train their pup to a high obedience level and has a once off membership fee of $550.00, which again is for the life of the dog, with no further training fees no matter how often or many times you train.
