Champion’s Cotton Drill Rugs

A heavyweight 100% cotton drill rug with back d'rings, wither protector and a front pvc strap. Ideal as an under rug, where you can thread your top rugs legstraps through. Will not move and totally breathable.

 

Champion’s Moleskin

• Moleskin Paddock Rug - Durable cotton with a brushed cotton underneath to help polish the coat - our moleskin rugs are just divine! They are much softer and tougher than the imported variety. Comes with n/rug ‘d’ rings, pvc front strap, rump darts, tail flap, reinforced shoulders and side release buckles.
• Moleskin Deluxe/Show Rug - as above but comes with shoulder gussets, taffeta shoulders, metal clips and legstraps reinforced on the outside with pvc.

Which canvas rug?

Canvas is available in 3 weights 12oz, 14oz & 15oz - waterproof & breathable.

 

The colours for this season are:

• 12oz jade
• 14oz blue, purple & pink
• 15oz grey

 

When purchasing a new canvas rug - it should be seasoned before use. Hang rug up and thoroughly wet canvas all over and then allow it to dry completely. This allows the thread to swell and fill the sewing holes in - thus making the rug waterproof and ready for wet weather use. This process should be done at least two times and manufacturers recommend this to be done before wet weather use every year.

 

What wool?

Champion Rugs does not use any bush blanket lining in any of their canvas rugs. Bush blanket is an inferior material that consists of leftover fabric which is compressed together to make the blanket. It does not provide much warmth and does not have any strength whatsoever to it.

 

Lining that is used in the canvas rugs is 60%, 80% and 100%. All are durable with different variables of warmth and they are breathable against your horse’s skin. Eliminating odours, dermatitis and overheating.

  • Deluxe unlined canvas rugs feature a large tail flap, tafetta shoulders, shoulder gussets, pvc legstraps reinforced on the outside of rug with pvc, sheepskin wither piece, metal clips and n’rug d’rings.

Manufactured from 1st grade sheepskin and are fully lined - available in black, chocolate brown, honey and ivory.

All our saddle blankets are manufactured with either 1/2" or 3/4" high density foam – made for comfort and absorbency - Making them one of the thickest on the market!
