Our Safety Features

As mentioned in the introduction, safety is one of the main features of every Böckmann float.

It starts with the sturdy construction of the galvanized chassis with its extra longitudinal beams, the superb 4 wheel braking system with breakaway feature, the automatically locking heavy duty coupling, the special non-slip rubber floor and the unique rubber covering of the loading ramp and the walls are made from 18 mm thick sandwich panel with a fiberglass and polyester finish. The patented panic release system of the chest bar, which can be dropped out from the outside in case of an emergency, deserves a special mention.

Come What May

The Panic system developed by Böckmann has, in the meantime, turned into a standard when it comes to trailer construction. Further research has produced yet another improvement to this Panic System, that is now equipped with height-adjustable stall bars at the front. If an emergency should arise when the horse trailer is in its closed position, the tethering rings can be unscrewed from the outside. In this way the bars in the stalls are released and, together with the mount, they drop downwards. The trailer does not have to be entered - thus no danger of injury for people arises. After having been put to use, this system can be once again easily mounted.

For Optimal Room Climate: the original Böckmann combi-lift.
The patented-protected Böckmann combi-lift is the innovative combination of Canvas lift and net roller blind and provides your horse with year-round travelling comfort of the highest order. Importantly, depending on weather conditions and season, with the combi-lift both lifts can used seperately or together as they are individually adjustable. The practical combi-lift - note that for many models it can be retro-fitted - is attached as before to the rear ramp. A cleverly-designed roll-up mechanism and the lift equipment, each with two springs, allow an extremely easy and quick rolling up procedure (see Photo below) without having to hook or hold.

The canvas lift consists of high-quality and robust PVC material which provides your horses during rainy and cold conditions with reliable protection from the wet and unpleasant draughts (see Photo below). Likewise, well protected: due to mounting the roll-up mechanism in the interior of the trailer, the canvas lift is safe against dirt and water when rolled up.

With its very finely woven material, the breathable net roller blind guarantees uninterrupted air circulation and a pleasant room climate during the journey without creating any disturbing draughts (see Photo below). Apart from which, it provides optimal protection against the sun and keeps out insects.
