Dural Riding School is a long established riding instruction and agistment centre situated on 25 acres of gently rolling fields close by the Northern Road in the peaceful western Sydney suburb of Dural. A small creek runs down to a lake which is home to many wild native birds and ducks.

 

We cater for children and adults with quality, educated school horses and EFA qualified instructors. All standards and ages of rider are welcome, from complete beginners to those with a lifetime of experience. On all occasions horses are matched to riders abilities by our highly qualified staff. Whether a leisure rider or a serious competitor, we have riding tuition to suit you!

 

Dural Riding School also offers full and DIY agistment, facilities for training horses, and preparation of riders for competition in all disciplines of eventing, dressage and show jumping to advanced levels. Lots of fun activities are also planned throughout the year.

Services Offered:

Riding Lessons
Learn to ride, improve your riding skills or develop your technique in dressage & jumping. Whatever your horse riding level or aspirations, let us help you to achieve your riding goals through our quality riding tuition.

  • Private Lessons
    • One-on-one riding instruction on our school horses. These 1 hour lessons are available Wednesdays & Thursdays. Private lessons can also be arranged on your own horse at the riding school or on your own property within the local area.
  • Group Lessons
    • 1 hour group lessons are conducted on Wednesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays. Groups of 2-6 riders per lesson. Exclusively adult riding groups are also available.
  • Beginner Lessons
    • Half hour lessons for the beginner rider including one-on-one tuition with an instructor. learn the basics ofd horse riding and build your confidence safely, with an instructor assisting to control your school horse on a long lead (lungeing rope).

Agistment

Agistment is available for your horse at the Dural Riding & Boarding Stables. All horses are cared for by fully qualified and caring staff. We will endeavour to create an agistment package that will suit you and your horse.

  • Agistment from $80 per week
  • Individual or shared grass paddocks
  • Lucerne hay &/or hard feed options
  • Qualified EFA instructors available for riding tuition
  • Sand arena, wash bay and tack room

Activities

  • School Holiday camps - Available every school holidays including lessons, stable management and general horsecare.
  • Shows - Two Dressage days and two Showjumping days are available at the Riding School.

 

Camps

The Camps include the following:

  • 2 lessons per day in the form of instruction, hacking and fun events. Mornings are taken up with instruction and afternoons with lessons in the paddock area.
  • Fun events in the evening: games, quizzes, informative talks/videos etc.
  • Stable management lectures and lessons
  • A show on the last day
  • Barbecue for parents and children & awards at the end of the week

 

Courses

Regular 3 and 4 day courses are run at the riding school throughout the year, usually in the school holidays and at half terms. Courses are non-residential and include 2 hours riding, 2 hours stable management, I hour yard duties and 1 hour lunch.

Tuesday: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
Wednesday: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
Thursday: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
Friday: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm

Training

Dural Riding School is happy to accept horses for training. Carolyn Grady/Stubbs and her team at the riding school have years of experience with training horses to affiliated competition level.
