Hornsby Dog Training Club Inc. is a non profit organisation run by a group of volunteers interested in the training and basic well-being of our best friends. The Club first began assisting the local community in 1959 and since then has grown into one of the foremost thinking dog training clubs in the state. We are run entirely by friendly volunteers who enjoy seeing new dogs progress through the classes to become good canine citizens.
Hornsby Dog Training Club Inc teaches obedience exercises to dogs of all ages, shapes and sizes on Sunday afternoons at Rofe Park, Hornsby Heights. The Club welcomes new members looking for an obedient and friendly family pet, and especially those wishing to proceed further to the field of competitive obedience trialling.
We practice positive, reward-based training which essentially involves training your dog using treats and praise. The basic principle behind this training method is simple. If you reward the dog for a particular behaviour, the chances are high that the dog will repeat the behaviour.

A bag is handed out with further information on the training methods for practice at home, as well as a few goodies such as a car window sticker.
